    About Langford Support Services

Langford was established in 1976 by a small and dedicated group of volunteers led by Mr John Langford as Community Hostels. The service was established to provide supported community based accommodation for people with mental illness. Over the years the organisation has changed, developed and grown to be the person centered, innovative and diverse organisation that it is today. Langford has a commitment to delivering its services with a sense of mutual respect, informed choice and flexibility. Individuals and their families have the right to be treated with respect and to know that their specific needs and wishes have a direct impact on our service delivery. Langford ensures that every person is given the opportunity to exercise their rights and to ensure they are recognised. Those receiving support have the right to: • Dignity, privacy and respect • Receive support and access to legal assistance to protect their rights • Feel safe and have control over the way services are provided to them • Live in a supportive and empowering environment
